Bell & Associates is seeking a Team Leader in Hartford City, IN.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Team Leader’s primary responsibility is to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping in assigned areas. They ensure all policies, procedures and work instructions are utilized and adhered to by all team members. They are also responsible for meeting the company’s goals, objectives and key measurables set daily.
The Team Leader has the authority to do the following:
- Shut down any job that is not operating in a safe manner.
- Manage and direct all hourly employees on their shift.
- Authority to report 1st step grievances.
- Authority to discipline manufacturing employees when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Over-all manpower allocation for hourly employees.
- Monitor and make the necessary adjustments with manpower at start-up, during shift and at the end of the shift ensuring optimum earned hours are achieved.
- Ensure proper initial set-up and continuous monitoring of assigned processes.
- Ensure all process parameters are met to manufacture parts to the quality standards.
- Schedule and direct hourly employees to production in a manner that ensures continuous
- support & flow in the molding bay for all production activity.
- Schedule setup for production jobs for the oncoming shift to ensure a smooth transfer of production activity between shifts.
- Ensure that all hourly employees receive adequate training required to perform their job responsibilities with supporting documentation.
- Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and maintains all job responsibilities in a continuous and flexible manner and performs other related duties and assignments as required.
- IATF 16949 awareness training.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- First Aid & Safety related Training.
- First Time Quality & Standards
- Minimum 2-4 years - Operation of injection molding machinery.
- Minimum 2-4 years - Injection Molding Environment.
- Previous experience managing hourly employees in an injection molding environment.
- Understanding of standard work procedures and processes.
- Familiar with IATF 16949 policies and procedures and work instructions.
- Assertive, Proactive confident personality, Leader.
- People oriented (good interpersonal, writing and communication skills).
- Competent PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires that the position be able to lift and carry plastic parts and generally not exceeding 10 pounds, without requiring assistance such as a dolly, forklift, or team member
assistance. There are also frequent and prolonged periods of standing/walking and pushing/pulling or moving/lifting supplies. This position experiences frequent/occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motion and gripping. Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position.
